On this page
The mobile women's health clinic is a free outreach health service providing vital care to women in regional and rural Victoria. Delivered by BreastScreen Victoria, the mobile clinic is set up in a bright pink van, called Nina.
The mobile clinic is staffed by expert nurses and health professionals. They provide a range of women's health services directly to communities that have limited access to specialised women's healthcare.
Women in rural and regional areas – including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and girls – often face barriers to getting the care they need. These can include long travel distances, long wait times, high costs, and a lack of privacy and cultural safety. The mobile clinic helps by:
- visiting towns and communities across Victoria, bringing services to women's doorsteps
- building local relationships with communities, health services, schools, and Aboriginal Community-Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs)
- offering free, walk-in or booked appointments
- providing care in a safe, inclusive, confidential and welcoming environment
- providing access to contraception, sexual health and support in accessing abortion care.
