Market shopping is a great way to find fresh seasonal food. From fruit and vegetables, fish, poultry, cheese and bread there is a huge range of great produce. We follow a family around on their weekly shop at a local fresh food market and get some good tips on how to stock up for the week.

I suppose when I come to the market I do a bit of a circuit. I've been coming here so long I know exactly where I'm going.

I go up through the organic section to see if there's anything that's not too expensive that I might buy there.

And then I go up and get the eggs for the week and maybe some honey. We then get all the fruit and vegetables down through there. We then get some deli goods like dips and maybe some cold meats or some things for making soups. Then into the fresh meat area - so I get the seafood, fish and some meat and poultry.

Then over to the bread section and then any other things I feel like, such as pasta or occasionally over to the French shop for some cheeses, but I didn't do that today.

The advantage of coming here is that you don't have to go to the supermarket three times a week or buy things at the last minute - so we try and get all the fruit and veg for all the meals for the week.
