Find out how the NDIS has helped improve David's life.

My name is David Kovacic. I live in Ocean Grove, Victoria, Australia. I am deaf and blind.

About four years ago I had an ear ache and that left me with an acquired brain injury.

Thanks to NDIS I’ve been able to get back a lot of what I lost. In fact, I know NDIS stands for National Disability Insurance Scheme, but for me it stands for “now, do it somehow” because NDIS provides the funding that I need to do the things that I used to do and love to do.

I thought my favourite hobby metal detecting was lost to me. But discussing it with NDIS they were able to say “well, let’s modify your metal detector.” I do pottery now.

I’ve learned how to read braille which is fantastic. Whatever your ambitions are, NDIS are the means to help you do it.
