Tip

  • There’s no right or wrong way or set timeline for how to grieve.
  • Grief may make us feel that we don’t know who we are anymore, shame, guilt, or even feel like we’re losing the will to live. Often we can stop looking after ourselves. By taking care of our health. we may start to see things more clearly and move through dark thoughts.
  • Often grief makes us turn away from the one thing that might help us most…other people. We can learn how to seek comfort and help from others.
  • Establishing a different form of connection with your loved one even though they have passed away has been shown to bring considerable relief.
  • It can be difficult to know how to support a grieving person it is natural and common to feel unsure, uncomfortable or overwhelmed about what to say.
