MonashHeart has renamed Valentines Day on February 14 to Love Your Heart Day in the hope of raising awareness of heart disease.
The special day will kick off at 10am at MonashHeart Clayton and will involve heart tests, visits from the Melbourne Heart players to the Coronary Care Unit and lots more special surprises which are yet to be announced.
Another very special guest who has partnered with MonashHeart for this special occasion is Ms Sue Cummins who last year lost her Valentine and love of her life to a heart attack. Facing the prospect of spending her first Valentines Day without her beloved Karl, Sue will team up with MonashHeart Director Professor Ian Meredith to get the following message out: "This year, think not only about chocolate and flowers but giving your partner the best gift possible; a healthy heart."
Also available on the day and lead up to the event, special MonashHeart lapel pins, cards and heart shaped chocolates with all proceeds going towards the purchase of two state of the art ECG machines – vital in diagnosing heart attacks. |
