Disasters can include floods, bushfires or storms. Injuries can include burns, broken bones and eye injuries. You may need to know how to contact emergency services or cope without gas and electricity. Afterwards you may need to deal with shock, stress or trauma.

Have numbers and emergency contact information handy for when you need it. You need to know where to contact emergency services.

Common injuries

Broken bones, burns, eye injuries and heat stress are all common conditions during and after a disaster.

First aid

A well stocked first aid kit is essential in every home, it’s also good to do first aid training including CPR.
