Child safety - outdoors ... all about

Page content: General | At play | Getting around | Important contacts

Outdoor safety for children is important. Hot weather, sun exposure, farm equipment, animals, water and playgrounds can all pose risks when children are outside. But if you follow some simple advice, it’s easy for children to enjoy being outdoors.

General

There are many possible outdoor safety hazards for children that are important to consider.

At play

Swimming, swings and digging in the garden are great fun for kids, but teach them to stay safe.

Getting around

Children like to move and families like to travel. Teach kids to use bikes and scooters safely and be aware of road and car safety issues when traveling.
