Asthma ... all about

Page content: General | Triggers | Children | Management

Asthma can affect anyone, babies, children, teenagers and adults. You can manage asthma at home and at work. Triggers for asthma include dust, smoke and pollution. Asthma management may require medication, but it can also include complementary therapies.

General

Learn about your asthma and how it might affect life events like pregnancy and travel. Adults can develop asthma too.

Triggers

Asthma triggers in the home and at work include dust mites, aspergillus fungus, smoking, wood fire smoke, smog and other pollution.

Children

Breastfeeding may reduce the risk of asthma in babies. Babies, children and teenagers with asthma have special needs.

Management

Asthma can be managed with medication and exercise. Some complementary therapies like acupuncture, chiropractic treatment and homeopathy may also help.
